[Public TvT] The Takistani Uprising

For years, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (AFRF) have been present in Takistan under a military cooperation program initiated by President Saddam. Since their arrival, they have trained Takistani soldiers to fight against insurgents in the north and participated occasionally themselves in combat. However, tonight might change the face of the country forever.
Saddam’s military has rebelled and multiple regiments across the whole country are forming the Free Takistani Army (FTA). The self-proclaimed “pro-democratic” representative of the FTA has announced that the presence of the AFRF is long past due and all Russian nationals are to leave the country or be arrested.
Sa’hatra is a central part of this new conflict. The Russians, commanded by Major Sevtchenko, have been stationed in a nearby air base since the start of the program and multiple Takistani regiments, lead by Aqid Hamza Al-Shamali, are present in the area. Al-Shamali and his men have sworn allegiance to the FTA. Before cutting all communication with Sevtchenko, he ordered him to surrender the base and all the weapons to obtain free passage outside the country. The Russian commander, being a veteran of previous armed conflicts in the Middle-East, is not ready to surrender so easily and has decided, with the backing of his officers, to decide the fate of his battalion on the battlefield. This decision was definitely influenced by the fact that the FTA soldiers have opened hostilities on a retreating liaison officer who was trying to leave western Sa’hatra. He has since been captured and his men are all presumed KIA. Furthermore, Takistani forces have already started using artillery against Russian assets.
The upcoming fight is going to be hard for both parties, but only one can come out on top. The future of the province and the civil war will be greatly influenced by the outcome of this battle.
